Pets Takeover: The ASPCA takes over Care To Click's Pets page during May, National Pet Month

ASPCA takeover of Care To Click PetsEven the most casual members of the Care To Click community likely noticed a change upon visiting the Pets page this month.

We've been taken over – and we couldn't be more pleased.

This May, which happens to be National Pets month, all of your daily actions support the ASPCA. That should make everyone's tail wag.

Founded in 1866, the ASPCA is the first humane society in North America and one of the largest in the world. The work they do to protect animals - to give a voice to those who can't speak for themselves - is unparalleled. Here are just a few ways the ASPCA is achieving its mission to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States:

  • They save at-risk animals from dangerous situation. The ASPCA is a national organization that deploys when requests come in from authorities to assist in animal cruelty cases. They help with investigations, forensic evidence collection and processing, rescuing animals and transporting them to safety, setting up temporary facilities to shelter and treat the animals, placing them with local shelters once they’re ready for adoption and providing legal services to ensure those involved are brought to justice.

  • They fight for stronger animal protection laws. The ASPCA works closely with officials in all levels of government to lobby for stronger laws to protect animals, and to defeat harmful bills. Their Advocacy Brigade is a group of dedicated supporters who receive targeted advocacy alerts that let them know how they can help with legislation in their area.

  • They find homes for adoptable pets. The ASPCA operates an Animal Hospital and an Adoption Center that have highly qualified veterinarians and behavioral counselors on staff. At these state-of-the-art facilities, they prepare animals medically and behaviorally for adoption and find loving homes for thousands of deserving animals each year.

And that’s just scratching the surface. In the coming weeks you will see Facebook posts, tweets and emails from Care To Click telling you more about the ASPCA. Some will ask you to support the ASPCA through direct donations. Please consider doing so. Follow the links to the ASPCA donation pages and take any action you can to help animals in need across the country.

Let them know that you love animals, that you appreciate the hard work the ASPCA does to save animals’ lives, and that you are willing to make a small donation to ensure the ASPCA can accomplish its mission. Then, share the link with your friends.

Care To Click community, this is your time to shine. A takeover has never felt so good.
