On the morning of August 2nd, hikers will lace up their boots and head for the trailheads of Colorados most epic peaks. The Colorado 54 will engage participants in an amazing day of climbing while raising funds to bring permanent clean water solutions to more than 1,000 families in Nicaragua.
The Colorado 54 is being organized by a Boulder, Colorado non-profit, Second Mile Water, an organization dedicated to empowering third world communities with sustainable clean water infrastructure. Each participant in The Colorado 54 will be responsible for hiking one Colorado mountain and crowdfunding $500 for their clean water campaign. Registration is limited to 540 participants, so interested hikers should pick their peak and start their campaigns now!
Visit our site to check out clean water campaigns that are already underway. Support a campaign or join a team all through our simplified crowdfunding platform. Participants are able to create personalized campaign pages for easy sharing, and donors receive instant credit for their contributions.
For many of us, clean water is simply there. When we rise in the morning we dont have to hike anywhere to fetch it. The goal of The Colorado 54 is to bring active community members together to form lifelong memories while making a positive global impact. For every $250 raised by a Colorado 54 participant, one family in Nicaragua will gain access to clean water.
Our organization has team members on the ground 365 days a year helping members of rural Nicaraguan communities implement permanent water infrastructure solutions. We go the second mile by empowering these communities with the resources necessary to maintain their own solutions, creating opportunities for individuals that will last a lifetime.
Show your support for The Colorado 54 by donating to a campaign or pick up your parka and come hike with us on August 2nd. For updates, interviews, and giveaways all summer long follow The Colorado 54 on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Were giving away prizes from our sponsors, Patagonia, GoLite, Polar Bottle, Canon, and more.
